When I read Beating the Odds Now, I felt empowered. I loved the way Laurie said that "The standards are there to fertilize your imagination." Wow! Talk about looking at something through different glasses. That almost made me gasp! That is nothing like I feel about them! I liked the visualization of the teacher as hero.
